Running for Change: My Mission to Empower Women and Communities in Tanzania Through Accessible Clean Water
I’m committed to empowering women and communities in Tanzania through clean water and sustainable employment. By running or walking 6km per day every day for three weeks, I’m raising funds to install a Nanofilter Water Centre, providing up to 1200L of clean water daily to a community in need while employing a female entrepreneur with a living wage. This initiative will improve health outcomes, reduce single-use plastics, and support gender equality through economic growth. Your generous donations and support for each kilometre I run or walk will help turn this vision into reality.

Learn More about the Happiness Run for Clean Water and Gender Equality
For three weeks, I will be running (or walking) 6 km each day, which represents the distance of the average round-trip women and children in developing countries walk each day (sometimes more than once a day) to fetch water in. It’s a powerful reminder of the daily struggles faced by many just to obtain a resource we take for granted. Through the Happiness Run I aim to raise $3000 to install a Nanofilter Water Centre in a community with a school or orphanage in Tanzania.

The people and projects I’ve been involved with in Tanzania have enhanced my personal and professional growth while contributing to global goals such as United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #5: “Gender Equality”. One idea with action can help foster a more interconnected, equitable, and sustainable world. Through my experiences, my daughters have learned the transformative power each of us has to contribute to the goal of achieving gender equality for all women and girls.
